On The Walk Across America

We were newlyweds and in newspapers across the country. This was at the beginning of the walk across America.

The soles of my boots were wearing down.

The Brogans that caused blisters on my feet during the first leg of the walk.

A day on the road.

On the road as the sun was setting.

A hot day on the road somewhere in Texas.

On the road in the middle of nowhere.

Twenty miles of walking left me exhausted.

My backpack weighed 35 pounds and Peter's weighed 75 pounds.

On the road in New Mexico

We walked across bridges, railroad trestles, rivers, and more on the walk across America.

Walking across Colorado was one step below heaven.

On the road in Creede, Colorado.

My face was covered for protection from bitter cold wind as we crossed Engineer Pass.
